About Us

The Thurrock School of Karate club was formed in June 2004. We have built a strong name not only within Thurrock but also in highly esteemed karate venues. Our standards are high and focus on the personal development of its students, improving self-esteem and self-image.

We are a traditional based karate school that is strong on Kihon (basics) we do not entirely promote competitions, but do believe it has its place in modern society. We believe in 'perfect practice making perfect' but this only happens with the right training and the right number of training hours.

We have highly qualified and proficient instructor who has over 28 years of experience. We run a tight and strict regiment; all students will develop and grow in character and continue to learn ways to harnessing their temperament.

As a club we invest ample amounts of time and energy to ensure that every student is engaged, involved and having fun. Anything worth doing must be done well; with passion, laughter and energy. These values define the Thurrock School of Karate.

We use our skill sets to create a better quality of life for our students now and for the future. As a result we have created a model where Karate is affordable, vibrant, focused and disciplined. We are in the business of building responsible students, accountable to each other and the community in which they live!

Our students and teachers wear our badge with dignity and honour, continuing the traditional teaching lineage which pursues the aims and objectives of Shotokan Karate ~ Do.

We treat people with RESPECT!
